We
arrived at Narita Airport at 5:00pm on 20th May in Japan time after 12 hours flight.
We delayed on our arrival approximately 20 minutes or so due to thunderclouds.
I think it was mostly smooth flight compare to going flight. It was full flight
and some of them are wearing mask to prevent from SARS. I also wore it on going
flight but I didn’t do it because too much bother to wear. Anyway flight crews
are also didn’t wear them..
I felt unpleasant humidity right after I got off the airplane. It was raining
at Narita.
It’s hackneyed phrases but I had to say, it is really Japan.
It was a long line at the quarantine. They checked body temperature by thermography.
Everybody became sensitive about SARS.It was unforgettable memory two white ladies
stared awfully at Hiromi coughing at an airport in America.
Anyway I feel it’s meaningless to check body temperature here because some SARS
cases happen 10 days after the person get .Still it might better than nothing
,though.
Japanese government might be panic to find Taiwanese doctor has SARS in Japan.
I think it’s really hard to completely stop the diseases having the incubation
period like SARS from inviting. We had simple farewell next to turntable after
we picked checked-in baggage up. We are scold by airport stuff while taking pictures.
It seems to be prohibited taking pictures here. We went through custom, then some
of us took bus and some took train going home respectively. Although the stage
itself made me nervous, the experience in America gave me relax mood overall.
It was really good experience for me who have tendency to think small and always
mind other people to put me in the situation to accept myself listen what I really
want to do first.
Even though all new experience and place, I could spend my time without feeling
scared or dispirited in America thanks of American people who accepted us and
a party of Wa noWa who spent our time together supported. Thank you for Miss Sayoko
and all people who helped me. |
