I woke up in the morning feeling hungry. Here is a motel named “Mona’s motel” nearby universal studio. A lady name Mona owns here. In front of 2 stories motel, there is our performance of s paraking space.
There if office next to it. Bread muffin and coffee where prepared for our breakfast.
I went to have breakfast accompany with Kazue who shared the same room with me. I smelled coffee right after it was brewed. We got last 2 muffins.
Lucky!! We had nice breakfast with sausage and cheese, which we sneak into here from Japan.
Today is a rehearsal day by us. We had a director Mike watch our performance of Okinawa dance”kacyashi”He is one of representative of “Secret Rose” and also a
Director.
As I took lesson here before in Sep. So I already know he has tendency not to order many and let performers play freely basically.
But he suddenly through questions at the performers as in acting “How large is the room now you are in? Or “Do you feel cold or hot?” “What month in what year were you born?” “Which position are you in your sibling?”
It occurs a contradiction in your movement if you don’t establish image in your mind very clearly.
You can perform as a logical consequence.
The action, which we usually don’t take, or overreaction turned out unrealistic. He most likely says “Good” all the time and just laughing.
As he hardly give any advice to performers it might be awful when he gives.
I asked Mike why I have to perform like that since I could not agree how it was at one scene yesterday.
He guided me kindly to solve my problem.
A difficulty is English skill and I wish I could be no problem without translator someday.
At the night I went to watch a play which an actor who were in the play we are going to play between Des.to Feb. And also a friend of Miss Kazu is in. It was small room and there is no boundary between stage and audience.
It was an interesting performance, which made use of effect of lights. After the performance I boldly and familiarly talked to him in English in spite of the first time we met.
I wonder what makes me communicate this way, it might be Miss Kazu introduced me to him, might be he used to be in same performance, and might be hugging.
We have saying, “Do at Rome as Romans do.”
Of course so did I. Miss Kazu picked us up after she finished the lesson of Japanese dance “Nichibu”and second day were finished.
After we spend an overnight at San Francisco tomorrow, we will return LA back and have a performance for real.
